Who doesn’t love Siri, the Apple operating system that lives inside every iPhone. She’s concise, has a very amiable voice, and will have an answer for just about anything you ask her. In most cases, her answers are exactly what you were looking for. But, in other cases she can say some pretty bizarre, even creepy things.
But hey, most Canadians are willing to overlook the shortfalls of a smartphone operating system. After all, imagine the sheer number of odd things that are said to Siri? Come on, you know you’ve got bored and said a few nutty things to her. We all have. Let’s take a look at some of the weirdest things said by the Siri operating system.
Before we do, however, let’s look at something that’s never nutty. Red Flush Canada scratch cards are now available online, directly accessible via smartphones, even those who don’t have Siri. This means you can have fun whenever and wherever you please. Feeling itchy??
Divide Zero By Zero
One of the most well known, and funny responses Siri can give, is when you ask her to divide zero by zero. Yes, we know it’s a silly and pointless question, and if there isn’t anyone out there who doesn’t know that the question is pointless, we recommend they touch up on their mathematics.
Ask Siri to divide zero by zero, however, and she’ll really let you have it. She’ll first explain that the question makes no sense, and that it’s like asking to divide zero cookies among zero friends. Fair enough. But she follows it up by saying that the Cookie Monster is now sad, and you’re sad for not having any friends. Ouch, Siri.
Snow White And The Seven Dwarves
Snow White is a pretty classic story, and likewise a pretty classic Disney film. It’s the film, however, that made everyone familiar with the rhyme “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” A very important question, and one you should direct at Siri.
Most of the time she will be polite, and simply inform you that you are, indeed, the fairest of them all. Sometimes, however, she will respond with “Snow White? Is that you?” What a hoot Siri is, and a decent sense of humour to boot.
No Dice, No Problem
This isn’t so much a funny Siri function, as one that happens to be super handy. There are many cases in which a person could use a randomly generated number, and it just so happens that Siri has a random number generator built in. If you tell Siri to “roll a dice,” she will generate a random number between one and six. Pretty useful.
You can also even tell her to “roll two dice”, and she will give two random numbers between one and six. So now, when you realise you’ve lost the dice for your favourite board game, you can just keep your phone handy, and play the game regardless.
Tell Me A Joke
If all else fails, just ask Siri to tell you a joke. She has a pretty big selection of them these days, ranging from amusing, to downright silly. Either way, you can keep asking her, and she’ll keep telling them to you.
Her selection of jokes keeps getting updated, so be sure to ask at regular intervals. No laughs guaranteed, though. But maybe a giggle.
